Welcome

At Kintsugi Counseling, we believe in the transformative power of therapy. Life's challenges can leave us feeling fractured, but these fragments hold the potential for healing and growth. Our compassionate team is dedicated to guiding you on your unique journey toward emotional clarity and strength.

Our trained therapists offer a safe, empathetic space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely. By integrating various therapeutic techniques tailored to your individual needs, we empower you to uncover insights that lead to personal growth and healing.

What do we do?

Our therapists use proven techniques to help clients with mental health symptoms. These methods are based on research and are tailored to meet each person's needs. Key approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. Our therapists skillfully combine different techniques to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses the client’s situation. This customized approach not only encourages positive change but also improves overall mental well-being.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is another therapeutic approach designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. It enables individuals to process and integrate these memories in a safe and structured environment, facilitating healing and personal growth.

What we treat

  • Anxiety is a natural and common response to stress, and it's something many people experience at different points in their lives. It is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome, often accompanied by physical symptoms like a racing heart or tension.

  • Depression is a feeling of persistent sadness and loss of interest in things, and it’s common because many people experience it at some point due to life challenges or changes in mental health.

  • Experiencing life stress is a normal part of being human, as everyone faces challenges and difficult moments from time to time. Some people have difficulty coping with or adjusting to a significant life change or stressful event, leading to emotional or behavioral symptoms like anxiety, sadness, or difficulty functioning.

  • Dissociation is a mental process where a person feels disconnected from their thoughts, feelings, or sense of identity, often as a way to cope with stress or trauma.

  • Panic disorder is a type of anxiety disorder characterized by recurring, unexpected panic attacks—sudden episodes of intense fear or discomfort that can include symptoms like a racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, or a feeling of losing control. These attacks can occur without warning and may cause people to fear future attacks, leading to avoidance of certain situations.

  • PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) is a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, causing symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, and emotional numbness.

Complex PTSD, a more severe form, results from prolonged or repeated trauma, such as ongoing abuse or captivity, and includes symptoms of PTSD along with additional challenges like difficulty with relationships, emotional regulation, and a negative self-view.

  • Self-esteem issues involve individuals' perceptions of their worth. These can manifest as self-doubt, negative self-talk, and feelings of inadequacy. Those with low self-esteem often overlook their strengths and are excessively self-critical. Such challenges may arise from childhood trauma, social pressures, or critical relationships, leading to a distorted self-image. Addressing these issues typically requires fostering self-compassion, challenging negative narratives, and cultivating a realistic self-view.

  • Grief often manifests as a complex and multifaceted emotional experience that can lead to feelings of isolation, anxiety, and overwhelming sadness. It disrupts daily functioning and may hinder one's ability to find solace and meaning in life, complicating the healing process.

  • Counseling for illness provides a safe space for individuals to process their experiences and emotions related to health challenges. Through therapeutic interventions, clients are encouraged to cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and healthy coping strategies, ultimately enhancing their ability to navigate the complexities of their illness.

  • Relationship issues arise from communication breakdowns, differing expectations, and unresolved conflicts. Misunderstandings can create frustration and emotional distance, while external stressors like financial strain intensify tensions. Addressing these challenges is vital for nurturing healthy connections.
